2- Furthest Sounds: Dryer humming noise in the basement and Cars driving past by the block.
3- Medium Range: TV playing in the living room, kettle whistling, pots and pans slamming
4- Closest Range: Music playing out of my laptop, clicking noise coming out of my keyboard.
5- The general sound level was in the medium. Nothing too loud or too quiet and the sound activity is average/moderate sound activity.

Place: My dorm in Dover Hall, Hempstead, NY
Close sounds: Laptop keyboard typing, medium sized heater, various phone notifications, shoes sliding on tile floor.
Medium Sounds: Doors opening and closing, toilet flushing, whistling from the window
Faraway Sounds: Unintelligible conversations in the hallway, footsteps from hallway,
Sound Level: The hum of the heater is constant and presently quiet. The other sound elements are sporadic and random while being loud enough to distract.

Essential Sounds: Hum from heater, footsteps, laptop keyboard typing. Passing conversations.

Place: Corner of Broadfield and Jane st
Close sounds: A mourning dove overhead, a squirrel rustling leaves across dry grass
Medium Sounds: a neighbor using an impact driver, music playing from my roommate’s window out onto the street (the heavy louder than the rest of the song)
Faraway sounds: Cars revving on Hempstead turnpike, planes overhead every once in a while, sirens, car horns honking, wind.
Sound Level: The majority of the sounds are low, bass-heavy hums, however the mourning dove is at a medium level, and the impact driver is very loud.
One Word Description: Rhythmic
Essential Sounds: Mourning dove, impact driver, cars on the turnpike, and roommate’s music.

Furthest— doors slamming on floor below, ice machine clattering in the kitchen, distant laughing
Medium— elevator doors opening, conversation in the room over, TV playing nearby, music being played off of someone’s phone in the kitchen
Close— keyboard typing, sound of AC/heater running, footsteps on the floor, doors opening
Sound Level— Medium, not super quiet but the strongest noise is not nearby

2-Closest Sounds: Dogs barking, People announcing that they are coming around the corner with a dog, People talking about different dogs, rustling of treat bags

4- Farthest Sounds: Cars pulling in and out of the parking lot, People talking to dogs they have out, Indoor hoses spraying, Dogs barking and howling from inside

1 – Thursday March 5th, 7pm, Hofstra Fitness Center basketball courts.
2 – Furthest away from me is the air conditioning, sounds of treadmills and stair masters, and the TVs playing ESPN
3 – Medium range sounds are people walking and talking on the jogging path, the music of a bluetooth speaker across the courts, and water bottles on the sidelines popping open
4 – Closest to me are all the sounds of a basketball game. The ball being dribbled, hitting the backboard and going through the net, sneakers squeaking on the floor, and the trash talk going on between players.
5 – Sound level is high, lots of different people in the busy place makes a very complex sound palate.
6 – “Intense”
7 – The 3 essential sounds to me are the ball dribbling, Shoes squeaking, and the background music.

2 – Cars driving by(tires sound like they are driving on a slick road), Plane flying, Engine revving, puddle splashes, Car locking sound(Beep!), Faint conversations
3 – AC Unit, door closing, rain drizzling, faucet running, dog barking
4 – Wooden stool creaking, Jiggling of a pencil, Buzzing of the refrigerator, footsteps walking down the hall, audible sighing, pencil jiggling
5 – Sound level: Medium, Amount of sound activity: Moderate(somewhat ongoing sounds)

Location: Axinn Library, approximately 12.00 PM.
Noises closest to me: The printer from a student printing out their work. I hear this very audibly as I was sitting right near it.
Background noises: I hear a people talking, very faintly. I also hear footsteps from people walking as well. I also hear people typing on keyboards as they do their work. Occasionally I do hear a yawn or a sniffle from somebody, or a water bottle opening. I also heard a firetruck go by.
