  1. 03/05/2024 – 9:09pm – Calkins Dance Studio.
  2. Sounds farthest away from me: the wind outside of an open window, the buzz of the overhead lighting, the occasional sink/toilet outside of the room.
  3. Sounds at medium range: the door occasionally opening and closing, quiet side conversations, the occasional bang of a foot or a phone, people sniffling/moving around.
  4. Sounds closest to me: contemporary music playing, my fingers tapping on my phone, the occasional buzz of my phone, the choreographers teaching/counting to the music.
  5. The general sound level is a little above average at most times, but back to average/quiet when the music/dancing is paused. The amount of sound activity is mostly sporadic, but constant and usually unchanging when the music/dancing is happening.
  6. Description word: active.
  7. Essential sounds: movement, counting, and contemporary music.

Location/Time: Bits and Bytes, 2/15/17, 4:30pm

Sounds Heard: Conversations at near by tables, me typing on my laptop, me coughing

1- February 11, Res Hall Lounge, 5:45pm

2- Footsteps upstairs and down the hall, but very little going on “further away” in the sound environment

3- Pan sizzling in the kitchen, music playing and female singing along in harmony, cupbards closing with a bump and utensils being set down

4- HVac humming softly, the chatter of a group of  people standing around waiting to leave for dinner – they are waiting for a few more people, but complaining idly that they are taking too long, shuffling, putting on shoes and coats, etc.

5- The general sound level is at a warm buzz and the sound activity is at perhaps a medium high – even though there isn’t a ton going on the atmosphere is active.

6- Animated

7- Music playing in the kitchen, the pan sizzling and the overlapping conversations of the waiting people

1. April 19th at 11:45pm at the movie theatre in Westbury

2. The sounds furthest from me are people whispering and footsteps

3.  The sounds that are at medium range to me are the sounds of people chomping on popcorn, giggling, and the sound of bags crinkling

4. The sounds that are closest to me are the videos before the previews playing on the screen and the person sitting next to me is having a conversation with the person next to her.

5.  The sound level I would say is a medium range.  There is a lot going on and people want to get their conversations in before the movie starts and people are still getting situated.

6. Entertained

7.  Sound of people chomping on popcorn, the previews before the previews playing on the screen, and giggling.
