(Inside delivery van driving down Jericho Turnpike.)

Identifiable Sounds:

-Van’s suspension working

-Van’s breaks squeaking

-The van’s engine revving up

-The wheels on the asphalt

-Small, unknown object bouncing around the back of the van

-A man’s voice on the radio

-An excerpt of “Enter Sandman” on the radio

Location: My front porch, 5:30pm

Identifiable Sounds: My dog’s leash, sounds from the kitchen inside (mostly the clattering of plates, I can also make out the sound of the dishwasher being opened), the front storm door opening and closing, footsteps, a dog barking blocks away, my neighbor dropping a hubcap in his driveway across the street, some birds chirping, ambient wind.

Location:Outside of Sunoco on Hempstead Turnpike

Sounds Heard: Cars passing by from the turnpike next to the station, car engines being started, cars pulling in and out of the gas station, commercial for coffee playing on gas pump, gas pump handles clicking, people talking in the background, music from cars pulling in, gas pump automatic stopping, beeping of cars alarms, car doors opening and closing

Location: Dog Shelter, Town of Hempstead

Time: 3:10 PM

Identifiable Sounds: Closest to me were the dogs barking. that was the most identifable sound, as they were barking at me being there. I also heard doors opening and closing from people coming in and out. I also heard voices, as people would say if they were coming in and out with dogs. Occasionally I would hear a dog drink at their water or chew at their food.

Location: Friends House at 7:30pm

Identifiable Sounds: the drying machine running, uno cards slapping on the table, cards shuffling, people talking and laughing.
