1. 5/3/25 – 4:30 PM – William T. Rogers Middle School in Kings Park, NY 

2. Far Sounds: I hear cars accelerating on the nearby road, ambulance sirens, and birds chirping.

3. Medium Sounds: I hear people talking, the clanks of color guard flag poles, and strong gusts of wind.

4. Close Sounds: I hear people counting for dance choreography, band members playing brass instruments, and percussionists banging their drums.

5. The general sound level is loud. The sound activity is ongoing.

6. The sound environment is energetic.

7. Three sounds essential to the sound environment are band members playing brass instruments, percussionists banging their drums, and the clanks of color guard flag poles.

Medium sounds: Car next to me on the road honking, the change of road conditions on the tires, the engine sound increasing.

  2. Medium Range Sound – Footsteps, people opening drinks and eating, Brooklyn slice chefs cooking
  3. Close Range Sound – People next to me eating and talking, typing from computers, Brooklyn Slice workers speaking spanish

  5. Bustling
  6. People having conversations, food being opened and Brooklyn Slice workers preparing food

Medium Sounds: People talking and laughing, chairs being pushed in, conversations, people walking in groups

Close Sounds: Laughter, bags openings, eating noises, chairs being pushed in and out
