Journal Entry #3

Time: 10:30 am

Place: Corner of Broadfield and Jane st

Close sounds: A mourning dove overhead, a squirrel rustling leaves across dry grass

Medium Sounds: a neighbor using an impact driver, music playing from my roommate’s window out onto the street (the heavy louder than the rest of the song)

Faraway sounds: Cars revving on Hempstead turnpike, planes overhead every once in a while, sirens, car horns honking, wind.

Sound Level: The majority of the sounds are low, bass-heavy hums, however the mourning dove is at a medium level, and the impact driver is very loud.

One Word Description: Rhythmic

Essential Sounds: Mourning dove, impact driver, cars on the turnpike, and roommate’s music.
