1- 2/8/18 , Hofstra Fitness center 9:00pm
2- The people above me running on their treadmills, the stray basketball that bounces down the hall,the faint sound of the weights being dropped in the other room
3- girls coming out of the locker room, the basketball game on the other side of the curtain,the volleyball scorekeeping talking on his phone, The Olympics playing in the lobby, loudly
4- My teammates warming up, chatting and the squeaks of their sneakers , the team captain yelling about missing players
5- high noise level

The Sounds of Constitution Hall, 6th Floor (Specifically from my room)

The slam of a distant door.

The wind passing through my open window.

The unnecessarily loud humming of my refrigerator.

The sound of my neighbor talking.

The sound of an idiot playing with the bell in the elevator.

The sound of a car revving it’s engine and driving away.

2/7/18 at Bits at 12:50

Far- Conversation, laughter, cash register, fryers, burgers being flipped.

Medium- Pencils on paper, fingers on keyboards, banging of fists on a table, “OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW” (someone must have tripped next to me), chairs moving along the floor.

Close- my water bottle crinkling, my my foot tapping the floor, my stomach digesting my cheeseburger.

One word- busy

3 essential sounds- fryers, conversation, chairs scraping the floor.(false hope)

  1. February 7th, 8:03pm, sitting on my bed in my dorm room (8th floor of Enterprise)
  2. Farthest sound: elevator dinging, cars driving on the street below, the shower running in the bathroom
  3. Medium far sound: someone walking in the room above me, my neighbor screeching with her best friend, the heater blowing hot air
  4. Closest sound: breathing, typing, my roommate shuffling through papers
  5. Sound level: overall quiet and subtle, like the flicker of a candle
  6. Description: peaceful
