Journal Entry #2 – Normal Night

Date: 2/8/18, Time: 8:03 pm, Location: My house
Sounds farthest away: People talking on TV, music from TV
Sounds at medium range: Stepfather commenting/reacting to Olympics on TV
Sounds closest: Mother preparing something in the microwave, opening of the fridge door, beeping of the toaster
General sound level: A lot of sound activity, but fairly quiet between my mother and I. Meanwhile, my stepfather is a bit loud as he was speaking from another room

Opening of the fridge door, people talking on TV and reacting to events on the television

Field Recording #2 – Washing Hands

Recorded in my bathroom

Sounds heard: Water running, squeezing soap out of the dispenser and water splashing in the sink

1- February 8th – 11:00 pm – Room 315 in The Hague House in the Netherland

2- Farthest – Cars driving down the street, people talking in the house common room

3- Medium – My roommates talking in the other room, the toilet flushing in the bathroom

4- Closest- my breathing, the running of my fish tank’s motor, the bubbling or the fish tank’s filter, my clock ticking

5- It is very quiet in this room and there is very little sound activity.

6- Tired

7- Clock ticking, fish filter bubbling, cars driving by
