Driveway of my house at 3/1/18 at 9:45. You can hear rain drops hitting the ground and wind gusts.

1.   2/28/18 on the Northern State at 5:00

2. Honking, hip hop music, “F$@^ You!!!!”-Evil soccer mom

3. The sound of the road as my mom drives, the radio blasting Demi Lovato, the blinker indicators, the engine revving.

4. The wind rushing through the open windows, the beat of my heart.

5. Minimal sound activity. This was a challenge for myself to see what I could tune into in a non stationary environment. I feel like next time, I should stick with stationary environments.

6. Gravely

7. Engine revving, blinkers, radio.

1. Hofstra gym 2/20/18 @ 12:45 PM

2. Basketballs bouncing on the gym floor, disappointing pop music, dumbbells smacking the floor.

3. People’s footsteps, water bottles being used (drank from, picked up and down, etc.), the leg press being used, people grunting from the effort of heavy weights.

4. The squeakiness of the seat of the row machine, my heavy fast heartbeat, the creak of the bar next to me being adjusted.

5. The room itself isn’t very noisy, a lot of the sound is the radio or televisions.

6. Bass

7. The dumbbells, the disappointing music, and the sound of my potato chips.

2/22/18 10:38 PM Kitchen pantry

Sounds heard, Chip bag opening, chips being eaten, and the bag closing.

  1. 2/11/18 3:00 pm at Q Zar (lazer tag arena)
  2. Far sounds- kids (screaming, yelling, crying, laughing), Arcade machines dinging, quarters falling, a four letter word not to be said in front of children.
  3. Medium sounds- conversation between my co-workers, awful dubstep, laser guns going off, the feet of children running who shouldn’t be running.
  4. Close sounds- cash register, my eardrum pounding from the noise, charging of laser guns, clatter of laser vests.
  5. The noise level in Q Zar is very loud. It is very difficult to get anywhere quiet but surprisingly easy to determine where the sound was coming from. Maybe that’s due to my familiarity with the location.
  6. Chaos.
  7. Laser guns, arcade machines, and the abundance of noise children make.

Basement at home 2/15/18 9:00

Sounds: my weird voice, the fan turning, my breath.

2/7/18 at Bits at 12:50

Far- Conversation, laughter, cash register, fryers, burgers being flipped.

Medium- Pencils on paper, fingers on keyboards, banging of fists on a table, “OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW” (someone must have tripped next to me), chairs moving along the floor.

Close- my water bottle crinkling, my my foot tapping the floor, my stomach digesting my cheeseburger.

One word- busy

3 essential sounds- fryers, conversation, chairs scraping the floor.(false hope)

Daniel’s house in the living room at 4:32 PM 2/8/18

sounds heard:fingernails on metal and expanding metals

1. 2/1/18-5:30-My bedroom

2. A train horn in the distance, a plane overhead, a dog barking, a car passing the house, the wind rustling the branches of trees.

3. My doorbell, my puppies (Hershey and Oreo) barking, the pitter patter of their feet, my sister complaining about high school drama and social drama.

4. My stomach rumbling, my phone vibrating, my foot moving rapidly (ADHD), the crinkle of my sheets on my bed.

5. Very quiet and infrequent, I sat in my room silent for 5 minutes eyes closed and struggled to hear a lot of sound.

6. Tranquil

7. My dogs, the trees, and my sheets crinkling.
