Location: Bits & Bytes

Far Sounds: indistinguishable conversations in the back room, electricity humming, food wrappers rustling.

Medium Sounds: garbled voice speaking over the phone, people talking, chairs scraping across the floor, hands clapping occasionally. 

Close Sounds: fan whirring overhead, keyboard clicks, table wobbling, fabric rubbing.

Sound Description/Level: quite consistent, there is a steady drone of voices engaged in different conversations, but they all blur into one another. The other sounds are mere accents dropped in occasionally.

One Word: bustling

Most Important Sounds: people talking, chairs scraping, voice on the phone

  1. 2/4/16, 3:00 pm, Cindy’s Modern Drama 2 class
  2. Farthest: sound of crackling paper around the room, sound of squeaking chairs, sound of classical music from next door class, sound of muffled whispers
  3. Medium: Cindy lecturing in the front of class, Cindy’s footsteps while pacing
  4. Closest: Sound of pen taking notes, my breath
  5. Sound Level: Medium, everyone is respectfully watching Cindy and the other noises are vague and soft.

1. Thursday 2/2, 7:00pm-7:30pm, Back of Student Center

2. Doors opening and closing, chairs moving, music playing in the cafe, talking

3. Bottles/food being placed on table, talking, laughter

4. Friends talking, phone vibrating

5. Sound  level and amount of sound pretty high not concert high but high like any other eating location during diner hours. Don’t have to yell when talking to someone close next to you at the table but one has to talk loudly enough so they can hear you

7. talking/laughter, metal chairs moving across linoleum floor, and bottle being put down on the tables
