My Room, Centereach
I start off the clip by grabbing and moving a few of my Yu-Gi-Oh card boxes toward me. I open up a Deck box and start flipping through some of the cards. Lastly, I set the cards down and plop my card binder in front of me and begin to flip through its pages.

Sound Journal #9 OPEN DRESS
1. 4/3/2014, 8:30 PM, NAB Female Dressing Room
2. Identify the sounds farthest from you: Furthest from me, I can hear a can of hair spray spraying in the last row of mirrors. I can also hear a bit of the conversation in that aisle.
3. Identify the sounds at medium range: At medium range, I can hear the action on stage via the intercom, and the faint fuzz that can be heard when the intercom is turned on. There are some wire hangers banging against each other on the dressing rack and footsteps coming from the same area.
4. Identify the sounds closest to you: Closest to me, I can hear the conversations of the girls in my dressing row. I can hear Laura’s keyboard and Sophie putting on her shoes. Whenever someone sets something on the counter, there is a satisfying placement sound.
5. General sound level and activity: Now that the show is in progress, the general sound level is lower than it is pre-show. It is cool, despite the heat in the dressing room. You can tell that everyone is ready now and is doing homework between scenes.
6. One word to describe the sound environment: Costumed
7. 3 essential sounds to the sound environment:
-Hair spray spraying
-Dressing room chatter
-Makeup, water bottles and spray cans on the counters
