Sound Journal #9

1. 4/3/2014, 7:30 PM, Marshalls

2. Identify the sounds farthest from you: The music over the speaker system, the sliding doors occasionally opening and closing, carts rolling

3. Identify the sounds at medium range:  More carts rolling, employees talking, footsteps by many

4. Identify the sounds closest to you:  Even more carts rolling, my mom talking, the sound of my arm brushing against my jacket as I walk around, my own footsteps

5. General sound level and activity: It’s a week day night but there are definitely a decent number of people in the store. The sound level and activity are both at a medium level. The store is still far from closing so no one is in a rushing to do anything really.

6. One word to describe the sound environment:  Leisurely

7. 3 essential sounds to the sound environment:

-Many carts rolling

-Music playing

-My own footsteps
