  1. 2/11/18 3:00 pm at Q Zar (lazer tag arena)
  2. Far sounds- kids (screaming, yelling, crying, laughing), Arcade machines dinging, quarters falling, a four letter word not to be said in front of children.
  3. Medium sounds- conversation between my co-workers, awful dubstep, laser guns going off, the feet of children running who shouldn’t be running.
  4. Close sounds- cash register, my eardrum pounding from the noise, charging of laser guns, clatter of laser vests.
  5. The noise level in Q Zar is very loud. It is very difficult to get anywhere quiet but surprisingly easy to determine where the sound was coming from. Maybe that’s due to my familiarity with the location.
  6. Chaos.
  7. Laser guns, arcade machines, and the abundance of noise children make.

Basement of the Axinn library- 12:45  2/15/2018

Farthest: I can hear people walking up and down the steps and others opening the side door of the library.

Medium: I hear people loudly working on group projects together, while others are gossiping in hushed whispers. I also hear the sounds of people typing on thier laptops, the printers printing out people’s projects, and the turning of pages in a textbook.

Closest: I hear people walking behind me and my neighbor taking out the contents of his backpack and placing them on the table. I also hear popping and clicking sounds in my ears (I am congested this is how I try to itch my throat).

Name of Environment: Studious

Three most important elements: People discussing their projects, typing on the laptops, and the flipping of pages.

2- clanging of carts rolling, the hum of the elevator, cars driving on the road, the wind on the windows

  4. Closest: The zipper on my combatboots clinking, the music coming from my headphones, the ice in my drink clinking and shifting, the metal on my purse clinking

  7. 3 important sounds: people talking, impatient sighs, music in my headphones

  3. Medium: Student typing on a keyboard, someone walking past and shuffling their feet

  5. Level: Typically quiet but has bursts of noise every few moments

  5. General sound level: A lot of sound activity, but fairly quiet between my mother and I. Meanwhile, my stepfather is a bit loud as he was speaking from another room

2- The people above me running on their treadmills, the stray basketball that bounces down the hall,the faint sound of the weights being dropped in the other room
3- girls coming out of the locker room, the basketball game on the other side of the curtain,the volleyball scorekeeping talking on his phone, The Olympics playing in the lobby, loudly
4- My teammates warming up, chatting and the squeaks of their sneakers , the team captain yelling about missing players

The Sounds of Constitution Hall, 6th Floor (Specifically from my room)

The slam of a distant door.

The wind passing through my open window.

The unnecessarily loud humming of my refrigerator.

The sound of my neighbor talking.

The sound of an idiot playing with the bell in the elevator.

The sound of a car revving it’s engine and driving away.
