Farthest Sounds: Shuffling, whispering, murmurs, creaking of chairs and shifting of weight

Medium Sounds:  Talking, smacking of gum, laughing

Closest Sounds: Guitar playing and music, stomach growling, breath

Sound activity and level:  Normal level with lots of activity

Journal Entry Devin Gee

1)   4/14/11- 6 pm- Au Bon Pain

2)   There are the sounds of cars passing by outside, the sound of chefs cooking, talking in the distance, distance foot steps, the door is opening and closing making a sound.

3)   There is talking, low music in background, guy wiping the tables so there is the noise of a spray bottle and a cloth rubbing against the table, chairs moving, wrappers, movement of sodas and other items, and a door closing nearby.

4)   Guy changing the trash bag right next to me, talking from people next to me, moving of chairs next to me, vibration from phone on table, and people walking right by me.

5)   The general sound level is moderate and there is quite a bit of sound activity.

6)   Restaurant like

2. People talking in the hall, doors opening and shutting

3. My friends/roomates talking and laughing, the TV, the keys of their computers being hit, Youtube being played on one of their computers

4. Keys on my computer being hit, my chair squeeking, the sound of bubble wrap popping

5. It’s quiet hours so it’s mostly quiet, but we keep forgetting that so there are also short periods of loud noises.

1. Food Court @ Roosevelt Field 4/6/11  6:00pm

2.  Footsteps, Sizzling, Clinging of cash registers, Music from a kiddie Carousel, Blenders

3. Talking, Phones beeping and ringing, laughing, yelling, echos

4. Chewing, fork scraping plate, swallowing

5. Sound level is very loud.  Very active

Sound Journal

Time/Place: Drama Lounge. Around 9-10am, Thursday, April 7th.

Distant sounds: Yelled dialogue and weapons clashing from the stage combat class. Occasional voices in the office.

Midground sounds: Doors of Lowe oppening/closing, people walking by/talking in the hallway.

Close sounds: Another student in the lounge shifting in a seat and typing at a computer. Pages turning as I read. Another student sits next to me at one point, with an i-pod turned up so loud that I can faintly hear the music.

General sound level: Low, quiet.

One Word Description: Colorful.

3 Essential Sounds: Clashing of weapons, Page-turning, Other student shifting in seat.
