  1. Date, time, & location: February 22, 7:30pm, Lowe 216
  2. Far Sounds: footsteps in the small hallway, office doors closing
  3. Closer sounds: Friends talking about current projects, 216s door opening and closing, desk drawers creaking as they open
  4. Closest Sounds: typing on my laptop, listening to Weezer, flipping through pages in my binder
  5. Sound level: sound level was minimal, when their were voices they were at a normal medium tone, but other than the talking and music it was quiet
  6. Description: familair
  7. Essential Sounds: office doors closing, friends talking about their work, music on my laptop.

  1. Long Beach Airport Long Beach, Ca 8:45 am 2/20
  2. Farthest- airplane taking off, distant conversation, someone pushing a cart, automatic doors opening
  3. Mid-range- music playing over a radio, elevator music playing, people rolling bags, someone stacking glasses
  4. Closest- airport announcements, sound effects from people playing games on their phone
  5. Sound level- low to medium, room to have a quiet conversation with someone nearby
  6. A bit hectic, but calm
  7. Essential sounds- elevator music, airport announcements, airplane taking off

2/22/2018 Costume Shop in Lowe 5:30 pm

hum of the sewing machines, the faint sound of Billy Joel on spotify, the washers on in the maintenance room, Ozzie’s whimper from Meredith’s desk.

classmates talking, professors giving instructions, costumes being hung back up on the rack, scissors chomping on the fabric

my himark and needle pulling through each stitch, my audible gasps overtime I poke myself with the needle

the room in my opinion is soothing, there is a perfect whit noise aspect to it

peaceful

The hum of the sewing machines, the scissors cutting away at fabric, the noise my needle and thread make as it pulls through the fabric.

 

Journal 4

1. Hofstra gym 2/20/18 @ 12:45 PM

2. Basketballs bouncing on the gym floor, disappointing pop music, dumbbells smacking the floor.

3. People’s footsteps, water bottles being used (drank from, picked up and down, etc.), the leg press being used, people grunting from the effort of heavy weights.

4. The squeakiness of the seat of the row machine, my heavy fast heartbeat, the creak of the bar next to me being adjusted.

5. The room itself isn’t very noisy, a lot of the sound is the radio or televisions.

6. Bass

7. The dumbbells, the disappointing music, and the sound of my potato chips.
