Journal Entry – Crivelli
- The student center 2/20/18 12:37 PM
- Farthest: The order form being printed out from the machine
- Medium: The sound of people getting up from their chairs
- Closest: The chatter bouncing around the student center, laughing, the beep of the order going through the machine
- The sound is very busy and bustling since it is lunch and everybody is moving around and getting where they need to be very quickly.
- Crowded
- 3 essential sounds: The beeping machine as you press the screen, the loud intelligible conversations, peoples backpacks being thrown over their shoulder.
Journal 4
- The intramural fields, Tuesday February 20 at 4P.M.
- Farthest: The planes flying in the distance and cars driving down Hempstead Turnpike with the occasional siren of a fire truck.
- Medium: The cars driving over the speed bump next to the stop sign (never truly stopping though), the frisbee team running, their cleats making a very distinct sound as they grab the soft dirt, and the frisbee captains calling to the girls to bring it in.
- Closest: The frisbee girls who arrived late unzipping their duffel bags and sitting down in the grass to put their cleats on, they also greet me with various ways of saying hello and talk about how the weather finally let them play outside again. I can also hear the sound of a squirrel running up the tree I am leaning my back against, it is a very distinct fast paced scratching (tick tick tick) sound.
- The general sound level is low but busy, with the occasional burst of loudness from the frisbee team.

Journal Entry #3 – Valentine’s Dinner
- Date: Valentine’s Day 2018, Time: 7:20 pm, Location: City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill, restaurant in Westbury, NY
- Sounds farthest away: plates falling and possibly breaking (scattered throughout evening), bar drinks being poured, faint music playing in the background
- Sounds at medium range: Food sizzling/being grilled/prepared, talking amongst other patrons
- Sounds closest: Talking amongst my family members, talking with waiter, slight clatter of utensils and dishes
- General sound level: Quite loud, but no screaming. Most of the sound came from chatter throughout the night

2) Farthest- People talking and walking over the Unispan, people talking in the lower level of the bookstore, someone playing music somewhere inside the student center
3)Medium- The cashier helping someone at the desk, lots of talking and laughing from the tables set up right outside the bookstore
4) Closest- Two people talking to each other next to me, my stomach growling, my breathing, a shirt falling off the hanger I was holding
5) Sound level- very high, intense and exciting because it was valentines day
