Farthest – Cars on Hempstead Turnpike, the sound of roadwork machinery, an ambulance siren.

Medium – Crickets chirping, the leaves in the trees rustling.

Closest – The fire crackling, friends chatting quietly, a guitar being played.

Sound Level – Low

Description – Peaceful

Essential Sounds – The guitar, the fire crackling, my friend’s voices.

Night Kitchen

  1. 2/16/17, 11:18PM, Vander Poel Hall Kitchen
  2. Farthest-Sounds of laughter from a different room. winds outside, The thud of doors closing different sections of the building, dimmed screech of a police siren or ambulance.
  3. Medium-Refrigerators running in vending machines, air conditioner, a buzz from the fluorescent lighting
  4. Closest-Butter sizzling on a heated pan, random clinks from the stove, me biting and chewing toast and scrambled eggs, me typing on the keyboard.
  5. Level and Activity-Low sound level as in it’s very quiet and any sound emitted can be heard throughout the room, but there’s a moderate amount of sound coming preventing total silence.
  6. Solitary
  7. Buzz of vending machines, sizzling butter, Police/ambulance siren.
