4 – Wind in the trees. A car door slamming as someone exits their car.

2) The pipes upstairs clanking every so often.
3) My sister upstairs, milling about in her room.
4) The soft hiss of the oven as it runs, and the clicks it makes every so often, including the pilot light reigniting in a soft “fwoosh”.
5) Very low; very little.
6) Muffled.
7) My sister milling about at a distance. The oven hissing. The pilot light’s fwoosh.

  • Cars driving by down other streets
  • Foot steps at the end of my block
  • A dog running with the person at the end of my block

  • The running of my engine
  • My blinker
  • Trees blowing in the wind

  • My breathing
  • My footsteps against the pavement

General sound level:

It is super quiet and feels later than it is. The sound activity is very low.

– The sound level is at a medium but is very concentrated. My entire house, for the most part, is asleep and still, except for where I am. There is a decent amount of sound activating coming from the direct vicinity that I am in.

6 – Assign a one word description to the “sound environment”.
– Tired

7 – Select and list 3 sounds which are essential to the sound environment.
-The television closest to me
-The keys typing
-The refrigerator humming

-Wheels of other cars rushing through puddles
-Wind whistling

-Air creeping through the narrow window opening
-My old car rocking with every bump in the road

– Rain drops hitting the windshield of my car
– Windshield wiper squeaking every time it hits the furtherest limit on both the right and left sides

– The sound level is pretty loud. There is a lot of sound activity going on, partly from nature and partly from machines I am using to try to control the nature. Theres a lot going on, and each of these things have a set rhythm to them.

– Effortful

-Rain drops falling on the windshield
– Whistling of the wind
-My car jerking around with every little bump in the road

>The couple making out in the room next to me.
>A very bass-filled male voice vibrating the wall.
>A t.v. playing in the room next to me.

4- Identify and list the sounds closest to you (You can include internal sounds if noticed or relevant).
>The heating unit that clanks and chinks every 23 seconds.
>The buzz of the light that seems to overpower everything.
>The cracking of my big toe.
>The sound of the couple hitting against the wall behind me as they make out.

>Sound level is at a filling dull roar.
