  1. When/Where: February 18th, 2016. 6:55 p.m. Backstage of As You Like It
  2. Farthest: audience members coming in and chatting, footsteps on stage and risers, Jim’s keys jingling
  3. Medium: run crew on stage right talking, actors getting into places and warming up their voices
  4. Closest: Dabney talking on headset, an ASM asking me a question, actors flipping through my script
  5. Sound level: medium
  6. One Word: anticipation
  7. Three Words: chatter, warm-ups, headset

Sound Journal #4

  1. 2/18/16, 3:53pm, Netherlands Core Cafe
  2. Farthest: low music playing in the area where you actually pick up your food, the sound of the turnstile as people go in
  3. Medium: footsteps and random chatter as people pass by
  4. Closest: the conversation of the students in the cafe, the loud obnoxious noise from the giant TV in the center
  5. Sound Level: Relatively high
  6. One word: Active
  7. 3 sounds: TV noise, music, turnstile

  1. Setting: Axinn Library, 7th floor.  5:30 pm on February 18th, 2016
  2. Farthest Sounds: cars zooming down the turnpike, the constant drone of airflow through the old ventilation system, muted laughter coming from the study rooms on the other side of the stacks.
  3. Medium Sounds: chairs creaking, heavy breathing, knuckles cracking, zipper opening, change jingling, wrapper crinkling
  4. Closest Sounds: keys typing, paper shuffling, loud swallowing, pencil dropping, stapling, student shifting in chair and her clothes rubbing together
  5. Low sound level
  6. Sound description: distracted
  7. Three Important Sounds: cars zooming, chairs creaking, pencil dropping
