- Farthest: audience members coming in and chatting, footsteps on stage and risers, Jim’s keys jingling
- Medium: run crew on stage right talking, actors getting into places and warming up their voices
- Closest: Dabney talking on headset, an ASM asking me a question, actors flipping through my script
- Sound level: medium

Location: Backstage in Adams Playhouse
Sounds Heard: You can faintly hear the sound of the tap dancers as they perform their routine onstage. They’re going through their number and their accompanying music is playing through the speakers behind them. You can hear everything faintly because I’m sitting behind the curtain backstage and that tends to block out the sound.

– Sit, close eyes and allow the sounds around you to envelope you, listen for all of the sound in your environment.
2- Lines, yelling on stage, heard both from the door as well as the intercom in the dressing rooms
3- Low conversations in the dressing room, Jesse doing his warmups nearby.
4- Air Conditioning unit above me, girl next to me turning pages as she reads
5- It’s all backstage voices. slight nervousness for the dress rehearsal, but certainly not the nervousness of a performance. The noise from the stage ranges with the emotion of the scene.

Farthest Sounds: Hangers Clanking, wood and casters dragging on the floor.
Medium Range Sounds: Stage Manager and crew’s footsteps at a fast pace, actors footsteps slow but loud. Director and SM Screaming. Chatter, microphone feedback
Closets Sounds: Commands from amplifier, sound check, pen and papers turning.
