Location: My friend’s car
Sounds In Clip: My friends talking to each other and laughing; One of my friends singing; The radio playing a song; The wheels of the car riding down the open road
1. Date: 3/4/20 – Time: 11:45am – Location: Jersey Mikes
2. The sounds that I can hear furthest away from me are the sound coming from the television, as well as the customers talking as they are ordering their food. Also, I can slightly hear a beeping noise coming from an appliance in the kitchen.
3. The sounds that I can hear in the medium range involve the doors being opened/closed as people are entering/leaving, and people talking to each other as they are walking in. Moreover, I can hear the cashier’s voice as they inform the customers of the total cost of the orders.
4. The sounds closest to me are my friends talking and laughing with each other, and them sipping their beverages from their straws. I can hear the crumbling of wrappers as we all pick up our food, bite into them, and munch on them.
5. The general sound level is moderately loud since there is a good amount of sound activity taking place throughout the building.
6. One word to describe the “sound environment” is “casual”.
7. Three sounds that are essential to the “sound environment” are my friends and I talking and laughing with each other, sipping our beverages, and munching out food.
Location: Motel 6 in Glassboro, New Jersey

1. Date: 2/26/20 – Time: 9:30pm – Location: Intramural Fields
2. Farthest away from me, I can hear the wind constantly blowing through the trees. I can hear the engines of cars that are passing by from time to time as well. Moreover, I can faintly hear people talking as they are walking past the fields.
3. In a medium range of sound, I can hear some of my teammates talking and laughing with each other. Also, I can hear the frisbee either being caught or forcefully hitting the ground due to the wind, and the music as it is being played from a Bluetooth speaker.
4. The sounds closest to me include my footsteps when I am running up and down the field. I can hear my teammates as they are calling out plays to me. Furthermore, there are internal sounds present as I am constantly telling myself to keep my energy level up and to play at my best ability.
5. The general sound level is quite noisy due to the music from the speaker being a bit loud. There is a good amount of sound activity going on as my teammates and I are constantly talking, yelling, and running around on the field.
6. One word to describe the “sound environment” is “vibrant”.
7. Three sounds that are essential to the “sound environment” are the music coming from the speaker, a slapping noise as the frisbee is being caught, and my teammates talking to one another with words of encouragement.
Location: Student Center
Sounds In Clip: The automatic doors opening; People talking and laughing; A metal object banging against another solid object; Chairs being scraped across the floor; Footsteps as some people are walking past
1. Date: 2/12/20 – Time: 11:30pm – Location: Dutch Treats
2. The sounds that I can hear furthest away from me are the doors consistently being open and closed, students chatting with one another as they are walking in, and the sound made from the scanner being put to work at the register.
3. The sounds that I can hear in a medium range are the beeping noises coming from the microwave and the sounds being made on the television. Also, I can hear the students near me laughing, and the chef calling out finished orders. I am able to hear the footsteps of the students around me as well.
4. The sounds closest to me include myself and my teammate talking and grunting at the fact that the chef keeps skipping our order sheets. Internal sounds involve me asking myself if waiting a long time for the food is worth it. Both the sound of footsteps and the door opening are now made as my teammate and I walk out of the store.
5. The general sound level is quite noisy, due to a good amount of students being present in Dutch Treats. There is a lot of sound activity taking place, since most of the students are either talking or laughing with other students.
6. One word to describe the “sound environment” is “rowdy”.
7. Three sounds that are essential to the “sound environment” are the students chatting with each other, the microwave making a constant beeping sound, and the doors being opened and closed consistently.
1. Date: 2/5/20 – Time: 10:45pm – Location: HofUSA
2. Farthest away from me, I can hear students talking and laughing with one another as they are entering HofUSA. Also, I am able to hear the shows displayed on the televisions at different volume levels in the far corners of the building.
3. In a medium range of sound, I can hear milkshakes being made and the server yelling out the menu items when some students’ orders are ready. I can hear when a student’s buzzard starts making noise, as well as them scooting their chair back in order to get up and get their food.
4. The sounds closest to me involve my friends and myself talking and laughing with each other. Also, I can sometimes hear a sipping noise when some of my friends are drinking their beverages or a munching/crunching noise when they are chewing their food. Internal sounds include me using words to ask myself when my food will be ready.
5. The general sound level is a bit noisy. There are many people at HofUSA conversing and eating, so there is a good amount of sound activity occurring. However, not as many students are here as usual due to it being a Wednesday night.
6. One word to describe the “sound environment” is “lively”.
7. Three sounds that are essential to the “sound environment” are the many conversations/laughs that are happening throughout HofUSA, the many televisions displaying different television shows at different volumes, and the server yelling to indicate when certain students’ orders were ready.
