Under the Globe

  2. Farthest: oak ash and thorn is being sung above
  3. Medium: people talk in the dressing rooms
  4. closest: shuffled footsteps walk by me, the air conditioner is blowing air right above me.
  5. there is quite a bit of sound here, however it is all very different.
  6. relaxed
  7. the play going on above, and people moving by me.

Emergency Room

Context: My brother was bitten in the face by a dog and had to get a few stitches.

  2. Farthest: Murmuring in the halls, nurses talking, police officers are there
  3. Medium: people passing by the curtain that it closing the room off. Nurses talking to other nurses or their patients. Beeping sounds (the elevator chiming), the opening and closing of an automatic door.
  4. Closest: The physicians assistant is talking to my brother, trying to decide whether or not to close the wounds, which would prevent scarring but make them more vulnerable to infection. She doesn’t usually close animal bites. She could also prescribe him antibiotics. My mom really doesn’t want his face to be scarred, Tim thinks it would look badass.
  5. It was quiet when we first arrived here but it’s now noticeably louder as more people are coming in and out. There is a lot of sound activity.

  1. Sitting in the Emily Lowe Conference Room, Thursday March 2
  2. People chatting on their way to class, the birds chirping outside, the wind howling outside
  3. music playing in Lowe 216, the students chatting about their project thats due soon, students walking to class in the hallways
  4. my heartbeat, the clicking of the keys on my keyboard, my deep breathing, the music in my headphones
  5. General sound level: Quiet
  6. Tranquil

Arrival and Boarding of Train

Date/Location: Mineola Train Station, 2-25-17, 7:30am

Sounds Heard: kid yelling, train honking, rattling and vibration of train coming, train passing “swoosh”, breaks of the train coming to a stop, train door opening, beep of speaker turning on on train, man in speaker talking, birds chirping
