Posts Tagged ‘Talking’

1. Date: 1/30/20 – Time: 7:11pm – Location: Intramural Fields

2. Farthest away from me, I can hear groups of students chatting with each other as they are walking past the fields. I can hear the engines of the cars passing by from time to time, as they slow down to adhere to the stop sign and the speed bump. Also, the women’s Ultimate Frisbee team is on the other field practicing. I can hear them yell the plays to each other, and laugh and chat with each other during their “water breaks”.

3. In a more medium range of sound, I can hear my Ultimate Frisbee teammates stomping on the ground and breathing somewhat heavy, since we are completing the mile portion of our Fitness Test. I can also hear our coach assisting us with supportive words as we complete this activity, as well as him yelling out the time updates.

4. The sounds closest to me include my own feet stomping on the ground and my own heavy breathing. I can hear the certain sounds that teammates very close to me are making, such as grunts and moans. Internal sounds involve me motivating myself with supportive words in order to finish the run.

5. The general sound level is more quiet than it was loud. Although there are a lot of sound activity being produced on the field in general, my teammates are spaced apart due to their different run speeds.

6. One word to describe the “sound environment” is “peaceful”.

7. Three sounds that are essential to the “sound environment” are the stomps on the ground, the supportive words that our coach provides for us, and the motivational words that I provide myself internally as I get closer to finishing the run.
