Journal Entry #4 – Barone

  1. Date: 1/20/20 – Time: 2:00pm – Location: Career Center
  2. The farthest sound from me is a door shutting from someone’s office.
  3. In the medium range of sound, I can hear two people talking quietly.
  4. The closest sound from me is my feet tapping on the floor.
  5. The general sound level is on the quiet side and the amount of sound activity is minimal due to very few people being in the room.
  6. One word to describe the “sound environment” is peaceful.
  7. 3 things that are essential to the “sound environment” is the door shutting, the two people talking quietly, and my feet tapping.

Journal Entry #4

  1. 2/20/2020, 8:05PM, Monroe Hall 205 (Acapella group rehearsal)
  2. Footsteps walking down hallway, & voices in hallway.
  3. Classroom door opening/closing & footsteps walking towards front of classroom.
  4. Water bottles opening, sheet music shuffling, piano, singing warm-ups, & people talking.
  5. The sound level is pretty high since I was right next to the piano and our singing voices were amplified from the acoustics of the room.  Despite a few sounds other than singing, the amount of sound activity was low since we were all singing the same thing. 
  6. Unified.
  7. Singing, sheet music shuffling, & the piano.

 

Journal Entry #3 – Brennan

When & Where: 02/20/2020 5:08pm Axinn Library 6th Floor

Far Sounds: Walking, chair adjustments, tapping, the occasional ding of an elevator, cars on the highway

Medium Sounds: Electrical hum, pages turning in a book, squeaks against the floor, pencil on paper, a door closing

Close Sounds: typing on a keyboard, someone’s jacket rubbing against wood

General Level: very quiet

One-word Description: soothing

Essential Three Sounds: electrical hum, pages turning in a book, distant walking.

Chillin’ on A Thursday Log #4

2/20/20

Farthest Sound- The windblown against my window,  some people playing and talking out. in the court yard.

Medium Distance- The sound of the downstairs heater acting up and making a strange thumping noise every other hour, and the sound of my fridge making a weird buzzing noise.

Closest Distance- My own breath, the squeak of my bed, and the taping of my key board.

Sound Description- Peaceful and tranquil, good for getting work done.

Important Sounds- The wind and the downstairs heater the the most promenade sounds at the moment.

Jingle Jangle Keys and Locks

Location- Outside my dorm room in the main hall, Hague house in the Netherlands North side.

Sounds in Clip- The jungle of keys, the scrape of metal on metal, soft voices in the background of people in the hall, the unlocking of the door, and the click lock of the dead bolt.
