Hofstra Drama 20 – Sound for the Theatre

3. bird calls, both tweeting and cawing

4. laptop hum, roommate murmuring in sleep

5. low sound level with no real rhythm, very inconsistant

Approximately 7:30 AM

My car, on the Meadowbrook Parkway, heading to Hofstra

2. Another car on the road, some distance away.
3. Another car as it passed me on the left.

The sound of the wheels as the car quickly moves.

4. The engine’s high whine as it struggles to change gears

The engine’s roar as it coasts at about 65 miles per hour.

The music in the car playing very loudly; the cast recording of The Adding Machine: A New Musical.

My own coughing, quite frequently.

5. Loud: my car is naturally pretty loud, as well as the cars around me, and my music is turned up even louder to compensate.

7. The music playing on the radio.

The sound of my car’s engine chugging along.

The sound of my car’s engine wheezing as it barely chugs along.
