Journal Entry #4

  1. 4/1&2/2026, 11:30 pm – 12:45 am, Cabaret in the Spiegel
  2. Farthest: The creaking from the floors from the stage and aisle, The doors opening and closing.
  3. Medium: People performing and Hosts talking, Clicking from the computer keyboard and/or mouse, chatter from the audience.
  4. Closest: People breathing, Seats moving, creaking, and squeaking, Whispering.
  5. Sound Level/Activity: The level of sound changes depending on what’s happening, if we’re in between acts the level is higher, and if we’re in the middle of an act the level is lower. Switching. Feels both controlled and uncontrolled.
  6. Description: Cabaret.
  7. Essential: Hosts and/or Performers from the stage, Chatter, Floor creaking.

Journal Entry #6

1) 3/7/13, 12:43pm, Cabaret in the Spiegel Theater

2) Max Baudisch hitting a rehearsal cube, Christian Titus’s footsteps and manic yelling

3) Cackles and hyperventilating from the audience, chairs squeaking, snaps, general hubbub of many people all living/breathing in a small room (the sound of small movements and breaths).

4) My own laugh, Tanner’s loud laugh, Geena’s giggling.

5) The sound level is medium high: loud, but not overwhelming. The amount of sound activity is very high.

6) Ridiculous

7) Max, Christian, and Tanner’s overpowering laugh.
