Hofstra Drama 20 – Sound for the Theatre

2/24/2018 On the LIRR coming back from Escape to Margaritaville with my Parents

mysterious clicking noise, LIRR announcement, Traveling noise, the wind

1- Mineola Train Station 3/1/2018 5:27pm

2-the rail road crossing signs up ahead coming dow, the wind, cars all honking and fighting to park to make the train

3-the girl scouts across the platform all shouting to buy cookies and giggling, the announcement made by the LIRR

4-my heart beat after running down the stairs because i thought i was late, the lady next to me asking the time to her husband, my phone ringing in my hand

5-mediumly busy – while there isn’t a lot of noise there is still a lot of implied action, everyone waiting for the train

6- Waiting

7- the railroad crossings coming down, my heart beat, and the announcement by the LIRR

1. Date: February 1, 2018, Time: 3:24pm, Location: Bits and Bytes
2. Farthest: kitchen utensils clanking, carts rolling, people talking loudly
3. Medium far: a dogs tag jingling, its nails clacking on the ground, snorting like a pig (it was a little bulldog of some sort)
4. Closest: someone watching a video loudly, chairs and backpacks shuffling, fingers tapping on keyboards of laptops.
5. Overall, the sound heard was minimal. It wasn’t a particularly busy time at bits. Small conversations close by at a medium volume, were the majority of the noise. All the chatter collected to create a white noise.

7. Kitchen utensils clanking, people talking, and typing on laptops

Location: In 201 of Lowe waiting for sound class

Sounds Heard: Pandora prior to class, Juan clapping, computer sounds, Phil confessing his love for me then hastily retracting his statement, additional small chatter in back of sound.

3- Ian’s voice, sweeping, hands hitting wood
4- Kat’s voice, Hannah’s voice, typing on my broken sticky clicky clack keyboard, a metal water bottle being opened
5- Very very loud
6- Hectic
7- Sweeping, Adam’s Jamaican(?) accent, Cindy yelling
