Hofstra Drama 20 – Sound for the Theatre

1) 2/13/13, 11:15AM, Outside Axinn Library

2) Sounds of people walking (steps they’re taking, shuffling of feet, “clonk” sound of shoes with heels maybe), people talking

3) More people walking and talking, the automatic door that leads to south campus consistently opening and closing, the occasional “Thank you” as someone probably hold the door for someone else, sounds of doors leading to south campus closing, people pushing door bar in to open door

4) Stomach growling, slight squeaking of hinge of Axinn Library door as door opens and closes

5) Loud, very high activity. The volume gradually got lower the further away I was from the sound (considering that is usually how sound works in nature), but the door sounds that were of medium distance away were generally louder than anything else

6) “Foot-Traffic”

7) The sounds of the doors constantly being pushed open, the ambient sound of people chatting, the “clonk” sound of large-heeled shoes
