JOURNAL ENTRY #2 – ALEXANDRA

FEBRUARY 25TH 2021 11:19AM

LOCATION: BITS AND BYTES

FARTHEST SOUNDS: The cashiers faintly speaking Spanish, the sound the register makes when a card has been accepted, the rumble of the coolers.

MEDIUM SOUNDS: The door opening and closing, students setting their stuff down at tables, footsteps walking past my table.

CLOSEST SOUNDS: The wobble of the clear plastic divider at my booth, the person in front of me chewing LOUDLY, the person behind me playing something through his headphones so loudly that I can hear it, various keyboards typing away.

SOUND DESCRIPTION/LEVEL: Ambiance – it’s occasionally noisy but the sound is muffled by the low rumble of the numerous coolers in the cafe.

IMPORTANT SOUNDS: Conversation, keyboard clicks, coolers/fridges running.

Top 3 Sounds: The cooler running, the Spanish speaking, the shuffling of footsteps.
