“Hydration Station” Lowe 2nd Floor 1:47PM 4/5/18
Recorded in the Hammer Computer Lab
Basically me going over all the important things I have to do, quietly thinking/talking out loud to myself (I had just finished the Light Lab when I recorded this, hence why I said “that’s done”)
Child Psychology Class In A Lecture Hall
In this clip you will hear Professor Cox discussing chapter 8 of our child psychology textbook. He is discussing a child’s ability to solve problems or gain a broader perception of the world in the younger adolescent ages. You will also hear the person in front of me typing in her notes on this topic, the person next to me shifting in his chair, and the low rumble of the heating system.
I attained permission from my professor to record his class session ahead of time.
4/5/2018, Bits and Bites, 10:14 AM
Farthest: Metal objects are clanking together in the kitchen (this could be a bot on a stove or a spatula on the stove), the doors farthest from me open and footsteps of women in heeled boots follow this sound.
Medium: The vibrating sound of the toaster and the refrigerators, the cashier checks someone out and explains that they can only take cash today, and the metal chair legs scrape on the tile floor as someone sits down.
Closest: The crinkling of one of the plastic pastry bags is coming from my right side, someone else laughs in the booth behind me, and a garbage cart is being rolled across the floor creating a small rumbling sound.
The general sound level is at a medium, although there are many different sounds happening at once they are all relatively quiet.
Breakfast
The spatula and pots clanking against the stove, the vibrating of the toasters and refrigerators, and the crinkling of the pastry bag.
4/4/2018, 6:03 PM, crosswalk in between Monroe and ABP
Farthest: people chattering as they walk away
Medium: the wind blowing in my ears
Closest: music blasting from someone’s car
Sound Level: high
Name of sound: obxinous
Three important sounds: car engine humming, music, footsteps
The pathway outside the student center.
You hear the wind rustling threw the tall grass, some water hitting the pathway, and the wind blowing into the microphone.
4/2/2018, 12PM, Outside of the Axinn Library
Farthest: Footsteps of people walking on the wet concrete and occasionally stepping in a puddle. Cars driving down the turnpike behind the Library. The doors to the psychology door being opened and people talking as they come out.
Medium: People coming in and out of the side door of the library and construction workers raking the gravel they are filling potholes with gravel.
Closest: The occasional chirp of a bird in the bushes behind me, squirrels climbing up the tree, and people talking as they walk by.
The general sound level is at a calm medium. There is occasional activity that causes louder noises, making the sound level a medium rather than a low.
Mellow
The footsteps of people walking on wet pavement and in puddles, the construction workers filling the pothole, and the birds chirping.
