3- The clicking of change in the dryer, clothes rolling around
4- electric hum of the machines.
5- High activity, but not too loud.

7- the hum of the washers and dryers, the clothes moving in the dryer with the clicks of change or metal buttons.

Farthest Sounds: Cars passing on opposite side of road,

Medium Range Sounds: Balls bouncing, an army of children running,  children screaming in high pitch unison,

–  The sound of the kitchen , the sound of people in other parts of the dining hall.

– The TV News Station going blahblahblahblahblah, A man behind me talking

4- Identify and list the sounds closest to you.

– Patrick drinking coffee, Patrick doing his Bits and Bites commercial, Patrick breathing heavily, Me typing, Me gasping for air as I cry.

5- Describe the general sound level and amount of sound activity.

– The sound level is quiet. There are a few louder noises than others, such as the TV and the man, but its all very still sounding.

6- Assign a one word description to the “sound environment”.

– Classy (because people are being polite and there aren’t many people in general.)

7- Select and list 3 sounds which are essential to the sound environment.

– The kitchen noise, the TV, Patrick sitting in my booth.

Sound Observation #9

1) Wednesday March 28, 2012 – 12:00p.m. – Alliance Hall

2) Furthest away from me, down the hall, someone is playing “Ignition” by R&B singer R. Kelly very loudly while people chat.

3) At medium range is my R.A.’s door opening and closing going to ask said hall-mate to turn the music down.

4) Nearest to me is my roommate asking who is playing the music and the television in our room.

5) There is much activity and it is loud, especially for noon on a wednesday.

6) Soulful

7) The music, door closing, and tv playing must all be kept in tact to keep the momentas it is.
