Hofstra Drama 20 – Sound for the Theatre

Leaving my dorm for Shakespeare class in the morning. Slightly rainy and windy. Birds chirping.

Location: Outside Hofstra Hall

Sounds heard: birds chirping, wind blowing, coughing in the background, footsteps, trees rustling, flag waving in the wind, people screaming and laughing in the distance

My room, Vanderpoel Hall

Wind through the window, rustling of the blinds

2. Farthest: faint noise coming from the TV’s in the houses, muffled talking from the students, the sound of the back turnstile moving
3. Medium: my own footsteps and the sounds my jacket makes when it rubs together
4. Closest: other people’s footsteps as they passed by me, my own coughing and sniffling, the wind through the trees
