Journal Entry

1.  4/27/12 at 12am in the common room at the end of my dorm room floor

2.  The sounds furthest from me are people talking in the hall and the elevator doors closing.

3.  The sounds at medium range to me are the closing of doors and people walking in the halls that are talking to one another.

4.  The sounds closest to me are my laptop humming and the air conditioner unit.

5.  The sound level is a bit loud because there is an echo in the room.  Because of the echo, it is making the sounds closest to me more noticeable

6. Noticeable

7.  Three sounds that are essential to the environment are the air conditioner unit, laptop humming, and the doors shutting in the hall.

Journal Entry

1. 3/22/12, 12:00am, my dorm room.

2. People talking outside my window on the stairs that go by my building, a truck outside.

3. Doors slamming in my hallway, the bathroom door opening and shutting, the elevator emergency bell ringing.

4. My heater blasting, the Kardashian’s on TV, my stomach growling.

5. The general sound activity is strong but the level is relatively moderate. There is much activity happening sporadically.

6. Bustling.

7. The students talking outside, the doors slamming in the hallway, and my TV on.

1- 2/24/12 – 1:35am -My Dorm Room

2- Airplane passing over head, people laughing outside, and cars honking

3- People talking and laughing as they walk through the stairwell

4- Computer fan hum, refrigerator sound, HVAC hum on

5- The general sound level is low and amount of sound activity is low except for interruptions

6-  Spontaneous

7- Plane flying over hear, people laughing/talking, computer hum
