Hofstra Drama 20 – Sound for the Theatre

Location: Madison Square Garden Arena — Tuesday, April 16th, 2013, 9:36 pm

Sounds Heard: My boyfriend and I went to see Muse at Madison Square Garden, and I was so surprised by the quality of the sound.  The acoustics in this huge arena are amazing, and the show’s audio was set up perfectly to feel so powerful and throbbing and impactful, but to not hurt your ears at all, even as close to the stage as we were.  I recorded a snippet from one of my favorite songs, “Hysteria” — I was also very impressed by how good the band sounds live, especially with Matt Bellamy’s fluid vocals.  Occasional elated screaming can also be heard throughout the song.
