  2. Farthest: Chatter from customers waiting on line

  4. Closest: The beeping every time I scan an item
  5. Sound Level/Activity: The sound level was pretty high, due to it being midday on a Friday and at that time we generally get pretty busy, so with all the people, and several registers open it can get loud and pretty overstimulating

Journal Entry #3

1 – Thursday March 5th, 7pm, Hofstra Fitness Center basketball courts.

2 – Furthest away from me is the air conditioning, sounds of treadmills and stair masters, and the TVs playing ESPN

3 – Medium range sounds are people walking and talking on the jogging path, the music of a bluetooth speaker across the courts, and water bottles on the sidelines popping open

4 – Closest to me are all the sounds of a basketball game. The ball being dribbled, hitting the backboard and going through the net, sneakers squeaking on the floor, and the trash talk going on between players.

5 – Sound level is high, lots of different people in the busy place makes a very complex sound palate.

6 – “Intense”

7 – The 3 essential sounds to me are the ball dribbling, Shoes squeaking, and the background music.
