Journal Entry 3

1) 2/17/11- 3:33 am- My Dorm Room

2) Very faint rumble of car passing by, car alarm going off, very low foot step noises

3) My roommate rustling around and breathing hard (trying to go to sleep), His lips smacking,

4) My stomach growling, my heart beating, my computer fan, and quiet typing.

5) The sound level is very low and there is little to none in terms of sound activity.

6)  Still

7)  Silence, faint rustling, being able to hear your own heart beat.

1. Locale- Main Quad in Front of Playhouse at 3:45p.m. 2/10/11

2. Farthest Sounds- Bus tires screeching to a halt, the bus engine, The flag flapping in the wind, cars honking on the Turnpike, Building doors opening, yelling

3. Medium Sounds- People talking about classes, skateboard wheels hitting asphalt, backpack’s jingling, electronic wheelchair going by

4. Close Sounds- My breathing, the wind in my ears, lots shoes scuffling as people walk past

5 Volume- Loud

6. Sound Description: Exciting

7.Most Important Sounds for Environment- Bus tires screeching, People talking about classes, Shoes scuffling

Footsteps, doors opening in sparse intervals

People talking, clatter of rulers, etc. against the desk, chairs squeaking, door to room opening and closing, periodic coughing
