Friday, March 26th 4:07pm
Location: The front steps of my house
Farthest Sounds: students talking and walking down the street on the way to campus, cars speeding on Front Street, a distant car horn (someone is MAD)
Medium Sounds: the ice cream truck parked two houses down, people inside my house running up and down the staircase, birds sitting on our fence chirping
Closest Sounds: the next door neighbors talking in their back yard, the Spanish music playing in our neighbors’ backyard, the slurping sound I make as I throw back a nice glass of strawberry wine, the wind rustling the leaves on our trees in the from yard and plants next to me on the stoop (kinda a papery crunchy like sound)
Sound Description/Level: Bubbly – there are moments of stillness and quiet, but there is the occasional interruption of a melody or something reacting to their environment. Feels like a nice spring day. I could get used to days like this.
Important Sounds: the sound of the wind almost feels like it’s playing with my hair, the ice cream truck reminds me that the weather is turning finally and the warmer and sunnier it gets the happier I will be. This is what peace sounds like.
