Far Sounds: People gasping, chattering, the roof shaking

Medium Sounds: Allie moaning, Chris shouting, Gun shot

Close Sounds: Actors saying “yeah!”, light clapping, people quietly clapping, my breathing, swords clinking

Sound Level: Loud

Sound Description: Intense

Critical Sounds: People Gasping, Gun Shot, Actors saying “yeah!”

March 11, 12:00 AM, Blake Hotel

Far: People laughing, pool balls being hit, murmuring voices
Medium: Air conditioning system, papers being moved at concierge desk, elevator ding
Near: poor quality hotel key board clicking too loudly, squeak of chair swivel

Sound Level: Medium

Sound Quality: Busy
Essential: clicking, elevator ding, laughter

Sound journal, week 6.

Location: Greenroom of Adams Playhouse, sometime during the run of War of the Roses. March 10th.

Far sounds: Music in dressing rooms, and the voices of other actors also in dressing rooms.

Middle sounds: Sounds from stage: thumping overhead from fighting onstage, and the dialogue coming over the intercom.

Near sounds: occasional footsteps/voices of passing actors, water-fountain running briefly.

General Level: Loud, but muted.

One word: Defined.

Essential sounds: Thumping, intercom, music.

March 10, 2011. 11:50 pm. Nassau Suffolk Hall

Furthest sounds: Hum of the AC, footsteps and door opening in the hall

Medium Sounds: Conan talking, rave music on Conan, people cheering

Closest sounds: keyboard, coughing, sniffling

Sound level: Medium, the TV is somewhat loud but I am the only person in the room

Homey- I close my eyes and it reminds me of being home and having the TV on with my parents

– Sit, close eyes and allow the sounds around you to envelope you, listen for all of the sound in your environment.

2- Airplanes overhead, That siren sound from the Uniondale Fire Department
3- Cars on california ave, Scattered on campus conversation, wind rustling the trees
4- Idling car in front of me, My breathing, my radio in my pocket
5- Lots of sound activity, but few overbearing sounds. High-medium sound level.
6- Business as usual

1- 3/9/11 Adams Playhouse 7 pm.

2- Slight sound of wind outside, people talking backstage.

3- Fight Call onstage, people talking in the audience.

4- My own breathing, a slight crackle through the speakers.

5- Loud, banging from fight call, people yelling to each other.

6- Chaotic.

7- Swords banging, people yelling back and forth, a slight crackle through the speakers.
