Farthest sounds: People talking in the hall, doors slamming, toilet flushing, cars outside

Medium sounds: The vibration from the vents, the wind outside, the windows creaking against the wind

Closest sounds: Music from my laptop, keyboard clicking, phone vibrating

Sound description: Stormy

Important sounds: Music, wind

Location: Walking through the netherlands core to my dorm

Sounds heard: Sliding doors, turnstile moving, netflix from the RSR officer’s computer, wind blowing outside

 

Location/Time: parking lot behind Constitution, Wednesday Feb 24th, 7:32 p.m.

Sounds Heard: cars driving through rain, wind, something metal tumbling through the parking lot, my blinds shaking

From the window of my dorm room (Vander Poel Hall, south facing window)

The sound of wind and rain during the storm on Wednesday.

 

Queens Zoo, NYC

We hear sirens, traffic, wind, the sound of falling water, people talking and the call of a talkative sea lion.

W 55th st & 10th ave NYC

City sounds, horse walking on pavement, carriage wheels, car horn, horse snorting, people talking, wind

Thursday 2/12/15 LIE (note: I didn’t close my eyes during this observation as I was driving)

Farthest sounds: Diesel engine noise of Tractor Trailer next to me, general highway hum.

Medium sounds: Engine hum of my new Fiat 500, Rrrrrrr of tires rolling on the pavement, Wind passing over the car.

Closest Sounds: “Walk on the Wild Side” blasting from my radio and the faint voice of the “Waze” app woman telling how miles to my exit coming from my phone.

Sound Level: LOUD. I enjoy blasting my stereo in the car.

One Word Description: Driving

Three essential sounds: Radio, Tire noise, and Traffic noise.

7/5/15, 8pm, My apartment NYC

Farthest: Faint steady sound of jet engines

Medium: Low hum of wind

Closest: erratic rattle of storm windows as wind hits them

Sound level is mostly soft, almost quiet broken up by sharp crescendos of the rattling storm windows

One word description: erratic

3 sounds: jet engine, wind, rattling windows

My Backyard, Centereach
At the beginning of the clip, sounds of me opening the gate to the backyard as well as it shutting can be heard. The sounds of leaves and twigs crunching and rustling underneath my feet can be heard along with the wind blowing. A faint motor of some sort from a neighboring yard is also heard in the background.
